Don't Just Love the Player, Love the Game!
We've all been told or have told someone "Don't Hate the Player, Hate the Game". That direction has always stood to meant, if someone or someone is experiencing some type of success or advantage and you are not, do not be against that person but be against the institution or circumstances that has allowed them to have the success or advantage.
What happens when we are happy about the success?
Reflecting on the history that Barack Obama has made, there have been heartfelt celebration throughout this country and throughout the world. My first thought is, this is the same political structure that America has followed for over the last fifty years, shouldn't we always be engaged with this process?
It is with no question that Barack Obama is annointed with a gift, but without this game of politics would we ever have had the opportunity to be a part of such a wonderful journey in this lifetime? My opinion is we (especially African Americans) should always be involved with the political process. The impact of policies of this nation we are always and have always been affected by. We should always understand who is being put in office. When I say understand, I mean more than just what the media tells us. We really should spend time looking into the process of politics.
We need to love the game, not just the player...........
